Back in July I created a web site for Ponder Auto Repair in Johnson City, Tennessee. Ponder and his technicians have been doing great work on our cars for years, so I was delighted to make his web site and use our little Canon A40 digital camera. The A40 is a great snapshot camera, producing 1600x1200 pixel images. One can expect to get good 5x7 prints with a 2 megapixel camera like this. While doing the Ponder project, I thought I'd push the A40 to the limit. I took the seven shots shown below of Brian Ponder's shop, pulled them into Adobe Photoshop, and created a digital panorama of his building. I have made outstanding 5.25x18 inch prints of this file. Note the elimination of poles, lines, and trees, the change of the billboard picture, and a beautiful sky (borrowed from a Grandfather Mountain photo taken in May).
