Absolute Truth

I am one who wholehearted holds that there is "absolute truth".  Qualifying truth with the term absolute should be unnecessary, but we live in an age where people claim there to be "many truths."  This flies in the face of the definition of truth, of course.  There is only one truthful way to describe anything; any other description has to be characterized on a scale ranging from ignorance to outright dishonesty.

If you are looking for absolute truth, your search will end with the Bible.  The Bible tells about the creation of the world, the fall of man, God's plan for reconciliation with fallen man, and a glimpse into eternity.

The entire Bible is online in various English versions (which were translated from the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek written some 2,000-plus years ago) at the Bible Gateway.

Selected Verses from the Bible

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."  (John 14:6 NIV)

He who gives attention to the word will find good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.  (Proverbs 16:20 NASB)

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on those things.  (Philippians 4:8 NASB)

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.  (Hebrews 11:1 NIV)

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  (Psalm 46:1 NIV)

For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb.   I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:13-14a NASB)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.  (Galations 5:22-23 NIV)
